Sex and religion chart
How do organized religions feel about abortion, masturbation, teenage sex, homosexuals, contraceptives and divorce? Here’s a helpful reference chart! I believe the last symbol, ‘Condemned’, is a picture of hell fires. This chart first appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle in December 1994. It was compiled, according to them, “based on official reports and expert advice.”
This chart shows that, contrary to popular belief, religious ethics are not ‘pretty much universal.’ However, there are some things in this chart that don’t make sense to me; like why is something either ‘unacceptable’ or ‘condemned’. Wouldn’t it be one or the other? Or does unacceptable just mean you shouldn’t do it, but it will be forgiven?
